R.A. Jones exhibited its latest advance in integrated packaging technology at PACK EXPO 2018: the Criterion CLI-100 intermittent cartoner. Equipped with the IndeCart 3 (also known as the B&R SuperTrak®), this machine allows for a flexible product pitch as well as rectifying infeed from upstream equipment that is not synchronized to the cartoner. At PACK EXPO 2018, LasX exhibited their SRTP machine with dual robots working into the same work cell. The system is a true hybrid, digital finishing system capable of handling roll or sheet format. Their patented laser controller; Proton, is paired with B&R mapp Motion and Open Robotics to allow the system to print-to-cut-to-placement of the parts. The LasX modular system design allows for flexibility for manufacturing and future growth with a customer’s business case. The XLS – 3 Smart Tyer with Smart Post from Plas-Ties is a compact twist-tying machine built with a specialized “post” to accommodate small Internal Diameter (ID) products. Among its many benefits, the Smart Tyer proves to be adaptable, labor saving, and have superior versatility with an effortless process. The Smart Tyer is programmed with B&R products including the X20 Compact – S Controller and I/O, T-Series Power Panel HMI and ACOPOSmicro servo drives and motors. Loma Systems is a world leader in engineering, manufacturing and servicing metal detection, check weighing and X-ray inspection systems for the food, packaging and pharmaceutical industries. At PACK EXPO 2018, Loma exhibited their IQ4 Metal Detector and Check Weigher Combination System. This machine simplifies the inspection process by detecting metal in products along with accurately weighing and rejecting if it is off weight or contains a metal contaminant. It is also equipped with B&R IO controllers and HMI products, this system can save around 25% of valuable space on the production line. Batching Systems, Inc. provides batching, scanning and filling solutions by count, weight or volume for a variety of products to offer reliable and precise count accuracy while providing maximum operational flexibility. At PACK EXPO 2018, Batching Systems presented their newest weigher, Batchmaster® FAW. This machine is a single head bowl fed scale capable of accurately delivering finished batches at rates that meet or exceed bulky dual head in-line scales in a much smaller, portable footprint.
